In the Post!

Day 3 of the Christmas journal is about Christmas cards. Here is my entry. I'm dead impressed at myself for keeping up with this all :) Mind you the house is a tip. This includes a copy of one of the Christmas Cards I have made for this year, inside I will write my Christmas list. I've also included a stamp from my first card this year.

Let it Snow!

First of all I finally finished my journal cover, so here it is...

Today's Shimelle prompt is about the weather in December. I made my page with a snowflake, cut out like you used to when you were at school :D fab :D I had a great time with it. :)

Spent today in Stephs (Forgetmenot Papercrafts in Belfast), had only intended to be there for a short time but ended up staying for ages! Played around with my new stamps and talked about our trip to Vegas!

Getting Started!

I've just completed my first entry in Shimelle's Christmas Journal Class. The aim of today's entry was to describe why you are doing this. My main reason is because it is Daniel's first Christmas, and I would like in years to come to look back on this.

I started out by freehand drawing the border, then did my journalling. I then stamped the boarder using my new paperartsy stamps :D Which I coloured with moss green chalk inks and highlighted with burnt sienna chalk ink. Finally I added 2 card triangles as Christmas trees and a Making Memories Present embellie :)

Manifesto: Noun. A declaration of one's intentions.

Starting tomorrow (1st December), I will keep a Christmas journal.

In it, I will write something every day to reflect on the holidays of my past, enjoy the holidays of the present and dream about the holidays of my future. To some, this will be a stack of papers and trivial scribbles, but not to me.

I am taking back my Christmas, I am letting it be something I relish and, most importantly, I am giving at least fifteen minutes every day to myself no matter how crazy this season becomes.

I hope you will share, encourage and understand as I make something with my own hands, my own words and my own memories.

I may post some or all of my entries here. Other artists are doing this with me, and you can see their work here. Or you may join
us
.

Above all: enjoy the season. I will.
