Lovely Friends...

We had a lovely day yesterday with our friends, we went to Mandy's house, with Joy and her wee man. The wee men played with trains, while we chatted about stash... hehe... Then we went out to the park, and Mr C fed the ducks, while Daniel ate the bread himself, insisted on falling quite impressively in every patch of mud that was in the place, and in the end just lay himself down on the grass like it was a beautiful summer's day.

I've spent this morning trying to cut mountboard for a few projects that have been swimming around my head for a while, and have painted the bases of a few wooden projects that are in the works too... a lot of ground work and very little to show for it!

I wish...

This morning the wee man discovered a hand held mirror, I found him turning it all directions, closing his eyes and opening them really quickly, then looking at the back of the mirror, and quickly peeking back at his reflection. He kept kissing the mirror... it was all very cute... I guess I figured that he had worked mirrors out, because he's always looks at his reflection in our bedroom mirror and when he goes for a bath, and always seemed to recognise that it was himself, but maybe not? Its so fun to watch him do things like this that I remember doing myself when I was little... another thing was on Monday, we went for a big walk to the park, and on the way home the sun was behind the 3 of us as we walked along, casting long shadows - he tried to catch his shadow... happy happy memories :)

Fat/Chunky Book...

As i mentioned in a previous post, I have been working of fat book pages for a swap that I am in with the girls on the Katy's Korner yahoo group.

Here is my attempt, the theme was wings/flight/fantasy...



I stamped stars on a piece of bazzil cardstock (4x4) using white Paint Daubers, Once this was dry, I smooshed various colours of distress inks over - using the super amazing blending tool, and then rubbed away the areas with the stars (a la Tim Holtz Technique). I cut some acetate into 4x4 squares and stamped my lovely fairy/moon image onto it using Black Stazon ink. The stamp is from viva las vegastamps :) Once this was dry, I turned it over and coloured in the wings and moon with glitter glue (shhh don't tell, I don't normally "do" bling, but I think it was appropriate in this instant ;) ). Left this to dry for a seriously long time (like overnight). I then turned it stamped side up and adhered it to the backing papers using brads, and added a cute little handmade with love charm. On the back, I covered some paper with some yummy glimmermists, and stuck them on to cover the brads and wires up.

I had to do 27 of these, so my hands were a bit sore, but it was so relaxing and enjoyable, and not mundane as I had begun to think it might be :)

ooooh and I got a lovely parcel of stash this morning with Kaiser Crafts stuff in it (an Aussie brand :) ) Love their papers so much...
